After developing the process of growing crystals, I began to create precious metal clay settings for them. I work with my wife Amy and together the partnership has grown into an exploration of esthetic and artistic boundaries. I grow them by melting quartz to over 2300 defrees fahrenheit. Crystals then bloom in a molten matrix of elements as the crystalline lava slowly cools. After weeks of slow cooling, the kiln is opened to unveil nature's gift. This work integrates art and science into an alchemical examination of nature's possibilities. Each is hand cut and polished, always looking for dramatic and extraordinary formations.
