My primary interest is to create drawings that express the mood and character of the subject. I use simplified lines and shapes to emphasize movement and feeling. Most of my works are gesture drawings of horses, people, and birds.
My current work includes drawings using sumi inks and ancient Japanese techniques. I make my own ink by grinding ink sticks on an ink stone, and apply this using bamboo pens and brushes. I also combine materials, such as acrylics, conté crayon and oil bars in many of my drawings.
