Ceramics
The fine art of function is my realm, and it is clay that conveys me there. It is important that I work in a basic material of the earth. And my imagination serves to connect me to the source of life, which energizes me in turn.
I design patterns in flat slabs of clay (like fabric) from found objects, then cut them into shapes, moving them around until they become 3-D in shape. The colors are chosen to heighten the pieces' functionality, and invite others to share in handling and displaying them.
